Motion Sensor Operation
Motion Sensor Operation
The EP2plus Theft-Mate System is equipped with a motion sensor which starts scanning the interior of the bus 60 seconds after deactivation. The motion sensor has three primary functions.
- Double-Check: If motion is detected within the first 60 minutes after deactivation the following message will be heard from the speaker "Please sit down some will be here shortly" and the horn will go off for a maximum time of 5 minutes. The system assumes that a child has been left unattended.
- Theft-Mate: If the motion sensor detects movement on the bus 60 minutes after deactivation it assumes an intruder has entered the bus and the following message will be heard from the speaker "Leave Vehicle now authorities notified" the horn will not go off.
- Driver Security: If the Child Double-Check or Theft-Mate alert is triggered the following message will be heard from the speaker when the driver returns and turns the ignition key to the 'ON' position. "Warning check for unauthorized entry"
During deactivation the motion sensor expects to detect movement of the driver as he or she walks to the back of the bus to do their child check and deactivate the system. If no motion is detected our system assumes someone other than the driver has deactivated the system. The next time the key is cycled 'ON' the following message be heard for the speaker. "Warning no motion detected on last deactivation."
