System Digital IO's & Integration

Introduction

Leverage your existing third-party GPS system or camera system. This connection can provide real-time, actionable alerts on critical Child Check-Mate events. By delivering a SMS/email alert when an alarm has been triggered, managers are able to respond to incidents quickly and effectively. When you utilize Double-Check and Theft-Mate functions with your existing third-party GPS system, we can alert you if we detect that a child may have been left on a vehicle, and/or if an unauthorized individual enters the vehicle. As an added safety feature, we can also trigger your existing camera system to record those events.

About Child Check-Mate System Outputs

The EP2plus is capable of connecting to other systems (i.e. GPS systems, camera systems) by using our Input/Output (digital I/O) ports. CCM has worked with several GPS and Camera partners to develop, deliver and prove this integration. At this time, the EP2plus can accommodate up to three (3) I/O connections in most applications.

Existing Outputs EP2plus Digital I/ O Connections

Black Stripe Wire (GPS Wire #1):

  • Capable of sourcing a +12V/24V High Output at 40mA when triggered.

Brown Stripe Wire (GPS Wire #2):

  • Capable of sourcing a +12/24V High Output at 40mA when triggered.

Orange Wire (GPS Wire #3):

  • Capable of either; sinking up to 300mA when triggered as an Output or has the ability to be used as an auxiliary Input.

Common IO Function Examples

Tamper-Proof

This is typically used with your GPS providers' reporting/text-message alerts to identify employees who may disconnect the CCM system. This is accomplished by delivering a constant Output on the wire as long as the CCM system has power. If the signal is lost; this will indicate that the CCM system has been unplugged or is otherwise no longer functional.

Child Check Complete

This is used to identify the time and place a driver performs their deactivation.

Child Check Function Activation / Deactivation

This is typically used to identify the period from Child Check activation to deactivation. When CCM becomes active the system will give an Output on the specified wire. This signal will persist until the system is deactivated.

This feature is often used to hook up the CCM system to an LED. This LED would serve as a visual indicator/reminder that the CCM is active.

Child Check Not Done

This feature is used to identify drivers that may have trouble understanding the function of the CCM system, or who may be purposely not performing their Child Check. This is accomplished by delivering a signal for a specified amount of time when the horn sounds due to a Child Check not being completed.

Theft-Mate & Double-Check Alarm Event

After the driver has left the vehicle, CCM's Double-Check mode is activated. During this time the vehicle is monitored for children for a period of 60 minutes, or however long you want this period to be. After the first 60 minutes the Theft-Mate Mode is activated. During this time the vehicle is monitored for unauthorized entry. If the CCM system detects movement, the system will deliver an Output for a specified amount of time on the specified wire. This is typically used to send SMS/email alerts to administrators who can then respond immediately. Our customers have also used this to activate camera/video recording systems to trigger event recordings.

Child Check Not Done OR Double-Check Alarm

This Feature combines the functions of Theft-Mate and Double-Check Alarm Event as well as Child Check Not Done therefore triggering a signal when either of the conditions of previous events mentioned are met.

CCM Requirements for Integration

  • The Child Check-Mate System must be programmed in order to make use of this functionality as each digital I/O will be customized to meet your needs and requirements.
  • We recommend that you confirm your third-party capacity to work with CCMs digital I/O connections, and request assurances and/or evidence of existing integrations, where possible. Generally, if the third-party has open I/O ports, and they can accept 12V or ground signals, we can successfully make the integration.
  • The third-party may need to supply a harness to make the connection to CCM.
  • Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) fees and reprogramming fees may apply.
This SMS/email alert will be dependent on how the third-party GPS System works.
CCM cannot warranty any third-party suppliers parts or services.
