Overview

The EP2plus TED System utilizes the fundamental Child Check reminder principle of our EP1plus. This system can be connected to a third party GPS service provider which can transmit real-time alerts such as Child check not done and System tamper alert. Below you will find key operational features, additional support information and the schematic to assist with your operation and/or installation.

Brown Wire (6-PH Wire #5) must be connected to the 8-way overhead lights.

  • When the accessory feature times out (4 minutes).
  • When the road crossing feature times out (10 minutes).

Silencing the Alarm

These steps do not deactivate the system.  This will cancel the alarm and reset the EP2plus back into the activated state.

  1. Turn Ignition ‘OFF’ for 2 seconds.
  2. Turn Ignition back to ‘ON'.

Road Crossing Feature

This feature allows a driver to turn the vehicle off and remove the key from the ignition for a maximum period of 10 minutes without deactivating the system.

  1. Activate 8-way overhead lights (or other 12V activation source).
  2. Remove the key from the ignition and perform escort duties.
  3. Insert the key back into the ignition and turn to the 'ON' position.
  4. Deactivate 8-way overhead lights and continue on your route.

To utilize this feature, it is recommended that the Brown Wire (6-PH Wire #5) be connected to the 8-way overhead lights.
The system is still active and requires that the driver conduct their child check and deactivation of the system end of their run.

GPS I/O Connections

  1. Child Check Not Done: If the child check is not completed and the horn sounds on the vehicle the system will send a ground signal to the third-party device to then trigger an alert (eg. text or email) to the appropriate personnel.
  2. Tamperproof: If the child check system is unplugged child check sends a signal to the third-party device to then trigger an alert (eg. text or email) to the appropriate personnel.

Accessory Feature

The accessory feature was designed to accommodate loading and unloading when the engine is not permitted to be running. Positioning the ignition key to 'accessory' will provide the driver 4 minutes for unloading or offloading passengers without having to deactivate the system. This can be extended by cycling the key to the ‘OFF’ position and back to 'accessory' position. This process can be repeated as needed.

To utilize this feature, ensure that the White/Orange Wire (3-PH) is connected to Accessory power.
The system is still active and requires that the driver conduct their child check and deactivation of the system end of their run.
