Metal RVT Upgrades
Metal RVT VS Plastic RVT (with LED)

Sold between: 1990s - 2015
The image above shows our Metal RVT. In California, because Title 13 requires that the system be deactivated with the ignition in the 'OFF' position, this RVT will need to be replaced with the newer Plastic RVT (image below). The Metal RVT will not be powered when the ignition is turned 'OFF' and therefore will not deactivate the system as required.
Sold between: 2015-present
The image above shows the Plastic RVT. This RVT is needed for correct installation and deactivation of the Child Check-Mate System in California. A dedicated wire should be run from the RVT to the Module. For installation schematics and instructions, please click here.
Notable Differences
- The Metal RVT has 1 screw hole at the top and 2 at the bottom, while the Plastic RVT has only 2 in total.
- The Metal RVT has a space at the bottom for a conduit to be installed, while the Plastic RVT does not.
- The Metal RVT will not light up when pressed, while the Plastic RVT does.
