California Timed Running Lights

Updated by Kaitlynne Monaghan

Overview

This document pertains to the "California Road Cross Feature" and the 12V signal that triggers this feature.

Problem

We have been told by several credible installers that some vehicles have a timer on their running lights (approx. 90 seconds). This poses an issue with the California Road Cross Feature, as the time may not provide the driver enough time to assist students when needed.

If the running lights time out - the horn will sound.

Solution

Child Check-Mate's default California Road Cross time is 10 minutes. If the running lights are on a timer, the installer will need to hook up the connection to a 12V source that does not time out within 10 minutes.

How did we do?
