Horn is Sounding While Driving

There are two primary reasons why the horn could start sounding while driving.

  1. Some of our systems have a time limit associated to deactivation once the key has been cycled on an activated system. Any system that has a time limit associated to deactivation with the Key in the ON position must connect pin 1 (Grey wire) of the 2 pin harness connected to the brake. Here is a wiring diagram for a standard EP2plus installation.
  2. Another possible reason for the horn to go off while driving is if a activated system which deactivates in the "Key Off" position loses power to the yellow Ignition wire due to a faulty connection. This will result in the system thinking it's time to perform a Child Check and the horn will sound after the allocated time to do the child-check elapses.

You should always check that your system software is compatible with this installation. If you are not sure, please contact us at 1 877 494 8222
