Key Software Features

  • The system activates when the eight way warning-lights are applied.
  • Front door monitored and alarm latched
  • System cannot be deactivated with entrance door open
  • Key 'ON' mutes front door alarm
  • 4 min for offloading in accessory, key cycle resets
  • System deactivates with the key in Ignition 'OFF'
  • Driver has 4 min to perform the child Check.
  • Dome light comes on during deactivation
  • Dome lights flashes 2 times upon deactivation
  • Dome lights remains on for 70 sec after deactivation

Activation

Activation occurs when the Driver applies the eight-way warning lights. Activation tone will be imitated from the module.

During Your Route

With the key in the ignition ‘ON’ position the bus will operate without any restriction's allowing the driver to open or close any of the floor level doors (entrance door, emergency exit door, or rear door).

Accessory Feature 

The accessory feature was designed to accommodate loading and unloading when the engine is not permitted to be running. Ignition key can be placed in accessory position prior to system deactivation and the doors can be opened to offload passengers. The accessory feature will provide the driver 4 minutes for unloading passengers and can be extended by cycling the key from accessory to ‘OFF’ back to the accessory position when the driver hears the warning tone from the module.

This feature only applies if your installer made the accessory connection.

Deactivation

  1. Close entrance door
  2. Apply the parking brake if applicable
  3. Position the ignition Key to 'OFF.' 
  4. Walk to the rear of the bus and conduct your Child Check. 
  5. Deactivate the system by depressing the deactivation button for 2-3 seconds, located at the rear of the vehicle.
    1. A deactivation audible tone will be heard and dome lights will flash twice and remain illuminated for 70 seconds.
If the ignition is turned ‘OFF’ and the entrance door is opened prior to deactivating the system the horn will engage immediately. To silence the horn close the entrance door and position the key to 'ON'.  Repeat the deactivation sequence.

Horn Activation and Silencing

  • The horn will sound if the system is not deactivated within 4 minutes of ignition 'OFF.' 
  • Prior to deactivation, the horn will sound if the ignition is 'OFF' and the entrance door is open.
  • The horn will sound if the accessory feature times out (2 minutes). 

To silence the horn, please perform the following 3 steps:

  1. Close the entrance door.
  2. Turn key to ignition 'ON' position.
