EP2plus Voice Instructions

Updated by Kaitlynne Monaghan

Overview

Like our EP1plus System, the EP2plus (and older EP2s) emit audible tones to communicate system statuses to the driver. The EP2plus (and older EP2s) can also accommodate an external speaker that provides voice instructions to communicate the system statuses to the driver.

The addition of an external speaker poses many benefits, some including ease of training for drivers and ease of troubleshooting for mechanics.

Below is a list of common voice instructions that drivers will hear during their regular routines.

There are additional voice instructions to assist with mechanics and troubleshooting. If you think those would be useful, please send us a message.
  1. "Child Check-Mate is now activated" will play after the system has become activated.
  2. "Child Check-Mate is now deactivated" will play after the driver has depressed the deactivation button at the rear of the bus, thus indicating the child check is complete and the system is deactivated.
  3. "Please conduct your child search now" will play when the driver is required to perform the child check.
  4. "Do not open any doors during your child check" will play to remind the driver that opening the doors before the child check is complete will cause the horn to sound on the vehicle.
  5. "Please remove key from ignition" will play to remind the driver that the keys need to be removed from the ignition to deactivate the system.
  6. "Confirm all doors are closed before ignition is turned off" will play to remind the driver that the doors need to be shut prior to the ignition being turned off to deactivate. If the doors are left open the horn on the vehicle will sound.
  7. "Turn ignition ON and set parking brake before ignition is turned OFF" will play to remind the driver that the parking brake needs to be set before the system can be deactivated.
